More than 6000 Laotians were without anything to eat or drink as they stood on their rooftops after the Xepian – Xenamnoy dam collapsed in Attapeu District, Laos.

On 26th July 2018, Singha R-SA travelled to the flood area with Iah-Hua-Ubon Part., Ltd. volunteer network from Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University and Laos scholars studying at Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University due to concerns about the Laotians impacted by flooding there. Rice and beverages were taken for the people at the care center for flood victims in Attapeu District of Laos. The resources and donations were given to Asst. Prof. Sontaya Kaosombat for disbursement, who is Vice President for Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University. The food and drink donations were conveyed through Chong Mek Immigration Control so that the Laos business network could make sure the villagers received them.

Singha R-SA fully intended to help the victims and not just give donations, so the team cooperated with a volunteer network from Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University and Laos scholars studying at Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University to go to Chong Mek Immigration Control to take the donations directly to the flood victims on 27th July 2018, including rice, drinks, dried food, life jackets and waterproof bags.

We worked with a volunteer network from Sisaket Rajabhat University to go to the donation point on 28th July 2018 in order to take rice, drinks and dried food to the flood victims. Miss Nangmala Chantalan, the Deputy Head of the Culture and Travel Press Department of Champasak District of Laos, was tasked with conveying our intent to the Laotians in a letter.

As neighboring countries, we should always try to help our neighbors when they need it, even if we are from different backgrounds or have different views. This is because inspiration is universal and helpful to everyone. We wish the best for the Lao people and hope that things get better so they will have reasons to smile again in the near future.
