Paddling for Chao Phraya
               Season 2

This is the second season for paddling to pick the trash up from around Chao Phraya River, which was the idea from Asst. Prof. Dr. Prinya Tewanaruemitkul, Vice President for Sustainability and Administration of Rangsit Center of Thammasat University. The goal is to make all people more aware of the importance of taking care of the environment. For this activity, the volunteers had to paddle around and pick up trash from both sides of the river for 230 kilometers from Nakhonsawan to Samutprakarn.

   Being a Paddler

When Singha R-SA found out that the group of paddlers would pass the pier of Pathum Thani Brewery Co., Ltd. on 8 October, we cooperated with Mr. Somchai Khemklad and the volunteers from Pathum Thani Brewery Co., Ltd., Thammasat University, Rangsit University and Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi to prepare the boats for participation in the project, as well as providing them with drinking water and food.

The trash that was picked up was sent to the recycling team. As of now, the group of paddlers has collected 3,215 kilograms of plastic trash, poisonous trash, chemical cans, and non-recyclable trash.

Singha R-SA
and the Environment

For many years, Singha R-SA has undertaken several kinds of missions such as making weir, picking water hyacinth from the canal and planting trees in the mangrove forest. Even though each mission has different working steps, the purpose is always the same, which is to conserve the environment. We believe that if everyone works together, the environment’s problems can surely be eliminated.
