Singha R-SA cooperated with Folk Wisdom Network, Chiang Rai Volunteers and the Agriculture Scholar Network went to the flood area to offer sticky rice as well as rice saplings to the farmers who allowed water that was pumped out from Tham Luang Khunnam Nang Non (Natural Cave) in Chiang Rai Province to flood their fields so that the authorities and rescuers could more easily rescue a young football team from Moo Pa (Wild Boars) Academy and their coach.

Singha R-SA and Mr. Phan Punkam, a local specialist from the Chiang Rai Wisdom Center, travelled to the flooded area on 6th July 2018 to see the extent of the damage after being flooded by water from the recent rescue effort. They saw that the sowed seeds had been damaged, particularly in Bannongor and Bantham villages, even though the water level had subsided. As a result, the plan was to offer the villages rice saplings to cover 12 acres and 1,000 kilograms of rice seed.

Singha R-SA worked with more than 100 volunteers from the Farmer School Network and Northern Agriculture Scholar Network, Maefahluang University, Chiang Rai Rajabhat University, Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (Chiang Rai), Chiang Rai College of Agriculture and Tech, Maejo University, Lampang Rajabhat University and Chiang Mai University to travel to Pongpha Sub-district in Maesai District of Chiang Rai Province on 13th July 2018.

We took enough rice saplings to cover 12 acres and 1,000 kilograms of rice seed to the volunteers for transplanting with farmers at the appointed time and location. Since everybody cooperated with joy and eagerness, the work environment was gratifying. Even those who had never done this kind of work were happy because they were helped by the local farmers who taught them.

We were able to gain many new relationships as well as practical experience from the local farmers and villagers. Singha R-SA offers many thanks and admiration to all the heroes involved with directly or indirectly supporting the rescue efforts to free the trapped footballers and their coach.
